Pink Shoes

Hey guys.
This is a layout I finished quite away ago and apparently forgot to share. It uses two scrap challenges. Don't worry guys I did get them submitted in time.

I found it very difficult to avoid the obvious, as in using lots of pink and shoe related prints. But now I like the fact that the word pink is actually in blue.
These are the pictures which I managed to turn into black and white with the exception of the pink shoes, to emphasize the pink. The original photo next to the edited photo.

Do you think it is an improvement? (Now I'm not sure lol)

It was designed from the September sketch over at Scrapbook Supplies Online.

And also inspired by another September Scrapburst at Scrapville.
Sccrapburst # 2 HEX IT UP! Layout must include a group of at least 6 hexagonal shapes.
I fussy cut the hex strip from some My Minds Eye paper and then fussy cut out a few individual hexs showing the back through.

I also printed the journalling onto the hex strip (I've been doing alot better with journalling lately, did take long... ) which explains that the shoes actually belong to Chloes cousins teddy but I couldn't resist putting them on her.

I kept the embellishments to a minimal to keep the focus on the shoes in the photo. I have only used some pink and blue washi tape and ribbon with a Purple Pumpkin XL star button and a stamped shoe image.

Not A Layout

What?!?!
Yes. Thats right, today I am not sharing a layout.
Last time I stopped by to say hi, I shared a layout about Chloes first Easter which had a sequence of photos of Chloe eating her first chocolate egg.
Did anyone notice the Easter basket that Chloe pulled the egg from...?
I actually made that basket for Chloe completely from scratch in the week leading to Easter (I was just a lil excited).
How about I start with the before:

Yep. I made my daughter something from beer, well the box anyway, the beer went to a happy place =D

I started by free hand cutting a trapezoid. Then using the first one as a template, cut out 5 more and glued them together. I traced around the bottom of the glued hexagon onto more cardboard, cut it out and glued it for the base.

Next up was the material lining. I cut a rough circle out of some satiny fabric and hot glue gunned it to the out side of the hexagon basket.

Then come foam and lots of it. Another 6 trapezoids cut from pink foam and a strip of purple make up the main basket. I attached the handle using two brads and decorated below both sides with a bow from Easter bunny ribbon and some lil Easter eggs.

On the other sides I foam pierced some more Easter eggs and a bunny. I wish I could take credit for the bunny however I used a pattern from the internet which I printed, traced, cut and stuck. I added some brads to the eggs for decorations and a bow to the bunny.

And ta-daa done.

Thanks for stopping by.

You {Heart} Chocolate

My first ever double page!
I was snap happy on Chloes first Easter this year hence decided just one 12' page was not going to be big enough and challenged myself to a double page layout.

And omg! For the first time in like ever, this is not made from a sketch. Completely me.
However it is still entered somewhere... lol
Scrapburst #4 - Word Play - Heart. Include the word in the title or a derivative of this word.

On Friday night, I actually went to my first evening crop at my LSS and for a small fee had use of some awesome tools which I wish I had at home. I snatched up the opportunity and used two of the MS boarder punches on this layout that drove away the straight edges that were annoying me. (also punched some random scraps for possible later use and will be going back)

Considering there are so many photos, figured I should go light on the embellishments, using only two untouched Kaisercreaft wood Easter eggs and some eggs which I also used on the Easter basket.

And of course a Purple Pumpkin button.
