Classy & Fabulous

Second post for today.
Got to get it up before the challenge ends.

This is a layout of Chloe licking the glass door while I was outside hanging the washing. I was laughing so much it was hard to stay still for the photos, didn't quite get the best shots but her eyes look soo blue!

I was super excited when I walked into my LSS and saw that Kaisercraft Butterfly Kisses was in stock a lil early, I have been waiting for this collection ever since it appeared on their blog nearly 3 months ago. I brought almost one of everything and instantly thought of these photos.

I used a Kaisercraft Saturday Sketch:

I used two photos instead of one but otherwise I think the sketch is recognisable.

I didn't have a title for this page in mind when I started which for me is rare, title usually comes second to photos. But as soon as I saw the 'Classy & Fabulous' in the Fun cut apart paper, I knew that was it as an ironic title.

The cluster has some Kaiser mini paper blooms which I curled the stems of, an unknown flower and some PP - the purple heart and crochet doily. The journalling is on a Kaiser tag and cover by some Butterfly Kisses scraps and reads 'She is ... CRAZY. Licking the glass door! And just after I cleaned it of course!'

The banner is manly from the collectables plus some punched hearts from the papers, all edged with black. I was going to punch holes through the hearts and have them hang from the twine (like I did on Neanies 50th) but got a bit lazy stick them down and just run the twine over the top

She is CRAZY. Thanks for looking.

Happy

Hi again.
Another layout today! Yay!
This one is a different style to the last few pages I have done lately and doesn't really have a title (I just loved the photo). If anything I suppose it would be called happy.

The extreme distress of the page came from Scrapville who have been holding ScrapBurst challenges all this month. ScrapBurst # 3 says : Stamp It Distressed. You must literally Distress this layout using Distress Inks, Distressing Tools and Distressing Techniques. As well as that, you MUST have at least ONE STAMPED IMAGE in the Background (using Distress Ink, and noting the colour used when entered)
A close up of the background xoxox's:

Another sketch challenge enterant aswell, this time Purple Pumpkins September sketch:

The sketch got a lil lost in all the distressing, but I assure you it is there!
The cluster at the bottom right is mostly Purple Pumpkin goodies and the layout was actually designed around the girl button, it is soo cute I just had to use it!

The distressed 'circle' is many sized squares cut out of 5 different pieces of paper then layered over a penciled circle to the back sheet.
I haven't used much (or any really) bling on my layouts yet, same with butterflies but they both seemed to fit perfectly and earned themselves some glue.

The inside of the big butterfly is a stamped image with I cut out and creased for dimension.

So what do you think of the different style? Did I make it work?
Thanks for looking!

you colour my world

Hey there everybody.
Been a while.
I actually completed this page a week or so ago, but wanted to share it with some certain people first before I showed you guys... Sorry bout that. I still love you guys too.

I fought with this photo in colour for a long long time. I just love it. Their eyes look so pretty but I couldn't get the photo to work for me no matter what I did, decided to give it a go in black and white with this title after seeing a similar page somewhere (can't remember where), although I first fiddled with a editing program to keep there eyes coloured, (unsuccessful for this photo but very successful for a page to share soon...)

The layout of the page is based on a sketch over at Stuck?! which is this:

I made each 'square' a different colour with just one embellishment to emphasize the title. I deliberately made the squares not line up, I knew if I tried to I wouldn't pull it off enough for Mr. Carpenters keen straight line sight and I like it better this way.

The pink section is made using white cardstock, many different pink washi tapes from Purple Pumpkin, a strip of pink ribbon and a Purple Pumpkin pink corduroy fabric button. I think making one of the squares like this gives it a bit more interest, was thinking of doing two, glad I didn't.

I couldn't resist putting a little bit more of washi tape (yep, I'm on the bandwagon now) hence the strip of starts and I made the green flower from some too.

If any one has been flicking back through some of my previous posts recently you may have noticed some pictures are now missing. Where did they go? You wonder. Well no need to worry you will be seeing them again sometime but just not on here...
Anyway for that reason I am now going to put a list of the materials I use on each page at the bottom of my posts, so that I have a record should I need to check back at a later date.

Neanies 50th

A tiny bub page today, just two weeks old with her Nana Neanie (my mother) on her 50th birthday.

Mums original plan for her 50th birthday was to have a Maccas birthday party (shes real grown up lol) but someone had to have a baby and ruin those plans on her, woops! So mum came up here and spent her 50th birthday with her first grandchild.

The layout follows a sketch over at Annas Craft Cupboard.

And also includes a warm-up and a workout from ScrapFIT.
Warm-Up #31 is to use patterned paper as your background, no cardstock. I decided that what better use of a patterned paper background then birthday photos, so many new birthday collections have been released lately which have lots of colour and nice busy patterns. Just like the one I have used from October Afternoon Cakewalk, in fact most of the layout is from the Cakewalk collection.

Workout #75 is trendy twine. Using twine on your project in a creative way. And a must have on a birthday layout is balloons, rather then just stick 'em down and drawn a line, I was inspired to tie twine around the bottom and have them floating from a peg up the page.

I also used twine on a banner through the middle on the page.

Seeing as I use only busy patterned paper, everything is edged with black ink to try and separate them.
Looking back at the page now I kinda wish I had omitted the yellow crochet trim. But oh well, all glued down now.
Thanks for stopping by!

Cheeky (Monkey)

Hello everyone, how are we all today?
I have here a layout to share with you featuring, surprise surprise, Chloe!
She is 3 months old here being cute and cheeky (like always!!)

Cheeky (Monkey)

The layout is fairly simple, purple-ish dotted cardstock, some gesso, a few Bella Blvd scraps (the monkey paper, 'i love you' scalloped and heart tab stickers), purple twine, and scraps of pink and blue.

The page was inspired by the wonderful sketch at Scrapville. Which looked like this:

I have used two buttons from my new favourite embellishment store, Purple Pumpkin.

A new release pastel purple heart

And a blue monkey button which I have actually placed to be part of the title.

The hardest part of this layout was writing cuddles backwards... I hand made the Polaroid frames by sketching the design on the back of slightly grey cardstock in pencil then cutting them out and sticking the photo in the gap.
I'm happy with this page, what do you think?

Excuse me

I share today a layout with lil tiny bub in it, Chloe at just 4 days old.

excuse me

Thank You Daddy

The photos are of Brenden burping Chloe while in hospital. It took me ages to settle on a title for this page. Normally I decide which photos to scrap by whether I can think of a good/interesting title for them, if nothing comes to mind they don't get a page. However I liked this set of photos so much I had to scrap them anyway. I think its probably because how small her head seems in his hands and that see looks directly at him in the last one.

I didn't want the title to be something too generic like 'safe in daddys arm' so it had to do with burping. I was tempted to try and make the page really 'pretty' and then just title it BURP, kinda like a juxtaposition but couldn't pull it off. I also wanted daddy in the title because you can't really see Brenden in the photos, although you can see some of his hair which gives it away. Ended up getting the title from a lady at my local scrap shop.

As per usual, this is a challenge entry. Scrapbook 365 provided the perfect sketch for this set of photos;

The wood paper is My Minds Eye (and so is the background paper) and was in my scraps pile from the last page I did of Brenden and Chloe. I love the wood look and think its appropriate to use for 'Brenden' pages seeing as his a carpenter. The construction look was continued with the brick crafters wookshop template which I painted onto the page with a gesso-grey paint mix then outlined with ZIG.

Hexagons are all the go at the moment and I was inspired to finally use them on my work from a Scrapburst which Scrapville are doing again for the month of September. I put them in bunches of three with each at a slightly different height.

Stamping is definitely not my area of expertise but had to use the thankyou and perforated circle stamps in a studio calico set I have. I actually inked the stamp then stamped it on a scrap piece before the page so that the colour wasn't too heavy.

Thanks for having a look! Hope you like the page!
