Gel ASAP -Scrap365

So spring came right on schedule on Monday but it seems winter crept back since, its crazy cold and wildy windy! Perfect for inside creative time.
This time a have made a page using a recent snapshot of Jayce.

Get This Kid Some Hair Gel Asap

I based this page on the September sketch at Scrap365. There are so many reasons to love their challenges, the sketches are always fabulous with plenty of white space and an amazing prize on offer. Plus they start/end mid-month!
For this sketch I have flipped it to better suit the photo.

When his hair is dry, Jayce has extremely straight hair which sticks very close to his head, we call it the Lego man do. But we discovered when wet it can be styled heaps of fun ways! Although it goes right back to Lego-man once dry. I have journalled about this in bottom right.

And I have used what I think would be my longest title ever to describing my reaction to this and wish that it would stay in the styles sometimes.

I sometimes check out the company blogs of the collections I have for tips/ideas. On Friday the Bella Blvd blog showcased two layouts using this 'lookin' good' tag. Made me want to use mine asap. I added the fox sticker next to it to hint at looking foxy.

When I first went to photo the page, I thought/couldn't handle that much white space. Hence I added some grey paint spots and a few punched stars from the other colour but same pattern paper.

I have a feeling more pages of Jayce with different do's will eventually be made. We nearly perfected the Elvis look last night!

Snuggles - Scrap365

And it begins another month. July was certainly my most productive month in terms of the number of layouts created and other aspects of life too. It was a very rare month of perfect balance. I hope it will continue.
To begin the month I have a layout to share of a very little Chloe and I.

This is an all time favourite photo of Chloe and I. It was taken way back in November 2011 prior to this we had only managed to capture a smile on film once, so I was amazed (and frilled) when I looked back at my camera roll later and saw this!

The design of the page was inspired by the August sketch challenge at Scrap365. I LOVE this sketch it is nice and simple with clear focus points. Plus I love that it doesn't determine the title location.

I have again decided to stitch my title like I did for this layout here. I really enjoy the effect plus with the amazing sunshine we have had these last few weeks, it is something I can do outside or at the park while the kiddos play. To get the holes in the right place, I printed the desired word/shape onto vellum then using a needle poked holes through the vellum and patterned paper.

I also stitched right around the boarder of the page to break up the pink a little, after it was all stuck down I went to take some pictures but thought the pink to teal was just a tad to strong.

I kept the embellishments to a minimum, only adding a few cut outs form the Elle's Studio 'Love You More' collection (actually all the papers are Elle's Studio 'Love You More') and some wood veneer from Studio Calico. Oh and some Elle's Studio stamps.

Finally I added a piece of flair from A Piece Of Cake Designs APOCD. And to help it pop a bit more I stuck a piece of left over string to the back then pulled the threads apart.

Thanks for stopping by. Hope you have a fantastic week.

Daily Drive - Scrap365 & Simple Stories

* Please note I am still battling away posting from my phone while my computer is out of action. Please excuse poor picture and content quality. Thank you. *

Hello. So I broke my word and printed a new photo to scrap but I'm sure when you see the photo you'll forgive me. It was printed direct from my phone so there had been no editing or anything. This is the picture exactly as it was taken and I think it's a good one.

This is a common sight in my review mirror and it makes me super happy! I couldn't help snapping a quick pic of it one day, safely of course.
I based the layout design on the sketch over at Scrap365 ( http://scrap365.blogspot.com.au/2014/02/happy-sketch-day.html )

I loved this sketch instantly and knew exactly what I wanted to create. Simple Stories Daily Grind collection was the perfect match for this page. I have used it exclusively.

In my usual style, I have kept very true to the sketch. I loved the prompts to put lots of little bits around the photo.

You will notice my own way less then perfect hand writing twice on this page. I am trying my best to journal more, especially about the bigger picture rather then the direct photo content.

Another of the littles things about my kiddies preserved on a page to remember for ever (and remind them that they did love one another once upon a time)
