Two Crazy Kiddies - Bo Bunny & My Creative Sketches

So. This post is going to be short and sweet with terrible picture quality for now. It is well past my bed time!
Tonight I created my third ever double page layout of my two crazy kiddies on a shopping trip to Kmart. My previous two-pagers have had varying success, the first was certainly not a masterpiece, in fact I don't think I ever completely finished it, and the second was picked up and published in the American magazine Scrapbook and Cards Today.

2 Crazy Kiddies

The photos are from a shopping trip to Kmart wear these beanies were just screaming to be worn! I couldn't help myself and popped one on each and snapped some quick pics. I am a very indecisive person so shopping trips can drag out a bit but doing silly lil things like this help keep the kiddos happy, well... tolerable.
The title and journalling are more about shopping trips in general and other silly things I do to while they are in the trolley to ward off tears and tantrums.
This page combines two sketch challenges.

The first page is from My Creative Sketches September Sketch and looks like the above. Can you see the resemblance? It was the Bo Bunny - Our Lil Monster 'Rawr' paper which married these photos with this sketch for me.

The second page was based on the Bo Bunny September Sketch challenge. I loved this sketch as circles are an element that I rarely use but know they create great effects.

I used only the Bo Bunny Our Lil Monsters collection for this page. I have wanted it since its reveal but could not find it until a holiday trip which just so happened to drive directly past a scrapbook store! Yay.

The few times I have created a double page layout I insist on putting embellishments over the page split to help unify them and to make my life more difficult this time I did so with a banner.

Each letter has been fussy cut from the All Star paper then stuck over the string.

An assortment of fitting words have been stuck near the two separate photos.

That is all for now.
I will be back again with better pictures when the sun is high and I have had a reasonable amount of coffee!

Winter...?

Hey Hi Hello.
This year it seems that Mother Nature has been away with the fairies a lil bit. The weather has been all over the place! For a few weeks, in the middle of winter there was glorious sunshine!! The kids and I took advantage of it as much as possible! And that is what this page is about.

The layout of this page was inspired by the August Sketch at My Creative Sketches. I altered the sketch to suit better, for example just the one large photo, but I believe you can still see the it.

I used the top semi circle to re-create the sun shine and lined it up with the glare in the photo itself.

I thought about many different titles for this page. Originally I was going to scrap it just cause I liked it, but decided to create more of a story about the weather to add meaning, then the title was going to be "Summer (in blue letters) or Winter (in red letters)" hinting at the switch of weather, however I made a mistake and stuck down the WIN in blue first. So decided to let the colour of the letters do more talking then the words.

The page is 90% American Crafts Amy Tangerine, with just a sticker and piece for paper from the another AC brand Dear Lizzy.

Another close up shots of the AC embellishments and fussy cutting and...

post done.
I am now heading to bed for a very early night to try and kick this flu which has began to creep up the day before our first ever, just for fun no real plans, holiday.
Thanks for coming by.

Teddy Bear - My Creative Sketches

Welcome to the 2nd half of the year. Still hard to believe we are already here.
I have another 'My Mr Man' series layout to share with you today. If you would like you check out the other layouts from this series I invite you to use the 'Content' labels which you can find listed at the bottom of the right sidebar.
The picture is of Jayce looking particularly cute in his super fluffy suit on a shopping trip, I think he stole a few hearts this outing.

My Mr Teddy Bear Man

This photo has been printed and hanging around my scrappy mess since it was taken in November last year, almost teasing me to be scrapped. But when I saw the Webster's Pages Hello World collection announcement I knew I had to be strong and wait to match these two up!

This layout is designed around the June sketch from My Creative Scrappers.
Normally a sketch instantly inspires me and I know that I must use it asap, however I wasn't completely sold with this one. I printed it out anyway and it seemed to gradually grow on me until that light bulb moment did finally hit.
It was the lighter triangles in the corners and the dashed lines that brought the layout together, they made me think of transparencies and stitching respectively.

The idea of stitching over the clothes line on the transparencies just seemed logically to me.

It was the triangles to the left of the photo in the sketch that kept me from jumping on this sketch, everything I thought of/tried took anyway from my photo too much. Eventually good ol' never going out of style chevrons came to my rescue.

The 'smile' charm is from the Websters 'Record It' collection my equal favourite Websters collection.

You may notice that the absolutely perfect sticker 'can you believe how cute this is?' has a bit of extra colour... That would be Chloes addition =( thanks bub.

Edit: I am very pleased to note that this page was chosen in the top 3 at My Creative Sketches. Thank you so very much for your support.

Australia Day - My Creative Sketches

Welcome.
Another scrap page which features myself but this time also the much cuter daughter of mine Chloe. The photo is a selfie taken on Australia day this year. I'm a proud Aussie so had to scrap it!

If you haven't noticed before one of my favourite scrappy companies is Bella Blvd and so last year I brought one of their warehouse boxes which was full of awesome goodies!!! But I couldn't deny that I was a little (very little) bit disappointed when the largest proportion was American related. Nothing against America but I wondered if I would ever be able to use it (I don't even have a passport let alone travel plans). Then it drawn on me, although our countrys supportive colours are green and gold our flag is also red blue and white.

The layout design was inspired by the April Sketch at My Creative Sketches. I love this sketch bog not only do they have AWESOME sketches and AWESOME prizes but they finish mid-month which that is perfect for a scrapper like me that doesn't get as much time to scrap as they'd like and tends to fiddle with the page for AGES before it sees any glue!

The pattern paper is from the Bella Blvd 'All American' range, which complimented the Australia flag clothing we are both wearing. While the 'love this place' card is from the recent 'Family Forever' collection, I was super excited to use it on this page because I DO love this country and anywhere with my kiddies!

Along with the Bella Blvd goodies I have used a number of chipboard pieces. The strip of stars has simply been painted also the title (but about 50 million times because I kept changing my mind which colour I wanted it, I think it has double in height). I began with the banner by painting the 'string' edge in grey then I stuck down a very old Ruby Rock-it pattern paper of Aussie flags and trimmed it to size.

And you can't have something Australia without an "Aussie" "OI!" which I has been stamped. By then end of the day I nearly had Chloe shouting this with me, we will perfect it ready for next year!
Thanks for dropping by.

You 2 Warm My Heart.

*Please note I am still battling away posting from my phone while my computer is out of action. Please excuse poor picture and content quality. Will update them once I'm back online. Thanks.*

I'm back. How is everyone else going?
I have stuck to my word and created a page using older already printed photos during my technology lull.
First up is a layout with my two kiddies laying together on the couch.

I took inspiration from the February sketch over at The Creative Sketch blog run by The Creative Scrapbook (
http://mycreativesketches.blogspot.com.au/2014/02/february-sketch.html ).

I think it was the hearts in the sketch that prompted me to use these together with the Love collection from Bo Bunny.

The title was cut out on my Auntys Cricut while visiting way back in September last year, like I said I had this photo printed for a while... The original cut file reads 'you warm my heart' but by cutting out the number 2 and a shadow for it the same colour as the titles shadow I was easily able to edit it.

In amongst the Cricut cartrigdes I found these super cute heart stick pins (if this page doesn't convinve you of my love for hearts I dont know what will!) and cut a bunch in different colours. I think you will be seeing more of them creep into my layouts now I've rediscovered them.

Washi tape is all the rage atm. It is a scrapbooking supply that I love and buy but seldom use. This is something I aim to change starting with this page. I've snuck 3 different styles in there and they can be the perfect touch.

I am slowly getting more brave/confident with inks and paints. And have randomly stamped some Kaisercraft texture stamps around the background then painted some stenciled hearts once everything was stuck down.
Thanks for stopping by.
