Water Dragon - Purple Pumpkin

Hello everyone.
How are we today? What is the weather like in your part of the world? Sydney has been windy and horrible for 3 days now making the kids and I stir crazy but scraping some happy summer photos that bit extra pleasing.
I finally have another layout to add to the 'My Mr Man' series about Jayce. Taking the total to only 3 but plenty more in planning. You can view the other two here and here

My Mr Water Dragon Man

This kid LOVES the water. Jumps in any chance he gets whether it be shower, bath, pool or puddle. He got this super cute swimming outfit from my mother for Christmas so I HAD to snap a few shots the first time he wore it (and everytime since)

The layout of the page was inspired by the current sketch challenge over at Purple Pumpkin, a super cute embellishment shop. Can you see the resemblance?

Like my previous page, this one also uses only Simple Stories 'Good Day Sunshine' collection. I was actually working on them both at the same time to ensure I didn't use something on one page I wanted for the other.
I LOVE the colours in this collection. So bright and happy. Plus like any SS collection there are plenty for embellishments to match! I have used a bunch of the brads on this page, two of which hold the twine banner.

There is absolutely no glue involved in this banner. The 'flag' pieces were fussy cut from the blah blah paper then two tiny holes punched and twine threaded. I then wrapped the twine around the brads a few times and tied the ends together, job done. This way it looks naturally placed and a bit different each time.

The photos are much more important then the title here, so I backed them with white and used flat alpha stickers. I tried to blend the My Mr Man part into the background colour to make the main part of the title stand out. The 'g' in dragon was actually blue but I coloured it with a yellow marker to make it match.

Edit: I am also linking this layout up at Paper Issues for their current Issue: Gettin' the Scoop on the Sweet Days of Summer link party. A great spot to get some extra summery inspiration from other scrappers.

My Mr Frog Man - Purple Pumpkin

So it has been quite a while but finally I bring you my second installment from the 'My Mr Man' series. You can find the first one here.
I thought this froggie suit was super cute and snapped a photo after I dressed him. Lucky too because it was the only time he got to wear it =( he had out grown it just two days latter!

My Mr Frog Man

I have used completely and only Bella Blvd and Purple Pumpkin for this layout.
I never previously liked sticking to manufacturers, thought it too restricting, but as my ever growing stash gets bigger the task of finding the exact right paper/embellishment has become almost daunting. I'm now starting to prefer it.
The page design came from the current sketch challenge over at Purple Pumpkin

I have used a portrait photo instead of landscape but I think otherwise stuck to it fairly well. Line of stars across the top, embellishment bottom right of photo, title below and partly on the photo and journalling under the title.

This is one of the cutest lil froggies (except Jayce of course) and was my main reason for choosing Bella Blvd for this layout. I tried to make it look as though the frog is sitting on a PP button and stuck the front feet to the button, the back feet to the paper direct and placed foam squares behind the head to keep it lifted.

A couple of close-ups of other PP goodies which I have placed in circles of corresponding colours.

And finally my journalling. I'm still not a big fan of my own hand writing but am too lazy to find an alternative.

Thanks for stopping by. Hopefully more to come soon...

Cherish

Hey. Hi. Hello.
It has been exactly one month since I was here last. My bad. I have been extremely busy of late. To the point that it took me the entire month to finish this layout! Yeah, crazy busy! But here it finally is.

Cherish

As soon as I saw the mood board over at Scrap Around The World I just had to use it! It can be found here.

The ideas cam flooding in!! Of course the colours were a great inspiration but I also took the idea of running mist down the page from the bottom left picture in the board. And I got messy, it was fun.

This didn't work exactly how I was planing. I hoped the mist would run around the modelling paste bubbles more rather then just straight over the top. Thicker/more modelling paste this probably the solution to that problem.

Hopefully when things calm down some I will be able to share a how to post for this layout with more info on the background.

The layout of the page came from the Purple Pumpkin November sketch challenge here.

I loved this sketch for all its white space which also made it a perfect match with the mood board challenge.

Purple Pumpkin have heaps and lots of super colourful buttons, both flair and fabric. I could have covered the entire page in them! But I was going for a minimalist look and just snack the one flair in with my flower cluster.

I could of journalled heaps with this photo about how much these two already love and care for each other but I think the photo says so much by itself. So I simply titled it 'cherish'

Cherish works for it on so many levels. They cherish each other, I cherish them, these moments and watching they grow together. It makes me proud. Lots more about that in layouts to come I'm sure!
And keep your eye out for my up-coming how to with this layout.

Bright

Since Jayce was born, and actually while I was pregnant too I think, I have called him My Mr Man. Often with another word inbetween depending what his doing. Eg. My Mr Hungry Man, My Mr Tried Man etc. etc.
Hence I have decided to start scrapping a 'My Mr Man' series, photos of Jayce I like that make him look a certain way.
First cab of the rank is:
My Mr Bright Man

I went to an afternoon crop the other day for only the second time ever. It was good to sit there (well stand actually, I usually end up standing while scraping) and scrap uninterrupted. More often then not a page takes me a few days (if not longer) due to caring for children, housework etc.
I completed one complete page at this crop and wanted to fit another in too.

I had seen this sketch from Ruby Rock-It, so I grabbed all of the papers I had from them and before I knew it, I had completed two complete pages!
The page come together quickly, rather then thinking, moving, thinking, rearranging, thinking, I just sprayed and stuck.

The page began with the Aracdia paper and I sprayed tattered angles mists in colours matching the photo.

Next out came the circle punches. I punched a bunch of them in all sizes from different papers in the Cranival ranges.

I had been thinking about the 'My Mr Man' series since my trip back home and hence had the those three words pre-cut (multiple times) from the cricut. Along with a few other little bits a pieces used here, the smiley face, clouds and balloons.

While packing up at the scrap I came across the PP fabric buttons and with a bit of glue my page was done.
Thanks for popping by.

Layout - Attitude Already

This has got to be one of my quickest layouts ever. Completed start to finish during Chloes nap today.
I've currently been working on three other layouts that I just can't seem to perfect/am waiting for supplies to arrive so it felt extra good to actually finish this one.

The idea for this layout came this morning when I looked through my blogger feed and saw the July challenge from WOW chipboard, a colour challenge:

The colours instantly reminded me of this photo from just 3 days ago, I was trying to snap a picture of Jayce smiling put he pulled this face instead, the boy already has attitude.
I was also instantly reminded of this scraping paper, the colours match perfectly.

You may think that the check background idea came from the fact he is laying on a checked blanket but that was actually an after thought. It really was because I wanted to use the cartoon style squares with speech bubbles that are behind the picture and the star paper however they were the same piece of paper and I only had one. Bugger. Solution: cut it up into squares and spread them out so you will never know.

The layout of the page is designed around a sketch from Purple Pumpkin. I've rotated it 90 degrees to accommodate the photo.

Hopefully I'll finish the other three soon... fingers crossed...

Happy

Hi again.
Another layout today! Yay!
This one is a different style to the last few pages I have done lately and doesn't really have a title (I just loved the photo). If anything I suppose it would be called happy.

The extreme distress of the page came from Scrapville who have been holding ScrapBurst challenges all this month. ScrapBurst # 3 says : Stamp It Distressed. You must literally Distress this layout using Distress Inks, Distressing Tools and Distressing Techniques. As well as that, you MUST have at least ONE STAMPED IMAGE in the Background (using Distress Ink, and noting the colour used when entered)
A close up of the background xoxox's:

Another sketch challenge enterant aswell, this time Purple Pumpkins September sketch:

The sketch got a lil lost in all the distressing, but I assure you it is there!
The cluster at the bottom right is mostly Purple Pumpkin goodies and the layout was actually designed around the girl button, it is soo cute I just had to use it!

The distressed 'circle' is many sized squares cut out of 5 different pieces of paper then layered over a penciled circle to the back sheet.
I haven't used much (or any really) bling on my layouts yet, same with butterflies but they both seemed to fit perfectly and earned themselves some glue.

The inside of the big butterfly is a stamped image with I cut out and creased for dimension.

So what do you think of the different style? Did I make it work?
Thanks for looking!

Cheeky (Monkey)

Hello everyone, how are we all today?
I have here a layout to share with you featuring, surprise surprise, Chloe!
She is 3 months old here being cute and cheeky (like always!!)

Cheeky (Monkey)

The layout is fairly simple, purple-ish dotted cardstock, some gesso, a few Bella Blvd scraps (the monkey paper, 'i love you' scalloped and heart tab stickers), purple twine, and scraps of pink and blue.

The page was inspired by the wonderful sketch at Scrapville. Which looked like this:

I have used two buttons from my new favourite embellishment store, Purple Pumpkin.

A new release pastel purple heart

And a blue monkey button which I have actually placed to be part of the title.

The hardest part of this layout was writing cuddles backwards... I hand made the Polaroid frames by sketching the design on the back of slightly grey cardstock in pencil then cutting them out and sticking the photo in the gap.
I'm happy with this page, what do you think?

I Remember

I bring you another page which incorporates two challenges. I am seriously addicted to challenges atm!

First up is the ScrapFIT Workout #73, where you had to use the title 'I Remember'. The day I read about the challenge Chloe was getting into everything!! And I thought I Remember when you couldn't move, those were the days... So I snapped a few pictures and made this page:

The second challenge is a Kaisercraft Saturday Sketch August #4:

The page is made from almost all Kaiser products including:
Save the Date - Collectables
Miss Match - Bingo Cards
Konstuckt - 6" Paper Pad
Technologic - Keyboard Sticker Sheet
Timeless - Type Sticker Sheet
Mini Alpha - White & Choc
Oh and there are two PP Purple star buttons and twine.

LOVE

Hi there!
How are we all today? Unfortunately my beautiful bubba isn't the best. She had a fantastic birthday and weekend but picked up a really big bad bug! She isn't her bright bubbly self atm but still manages to smile every now and then!
Today I share a layout with lots of dimension (well for me at least)

For the inspiration of this page I must give credit to Sketchbook365 for a sketch on their blog, a bit for Stacey at PP who also used a PP button to anchor a twine banner to her page and the rest to the 'sweet like sugar' banner title I had in my stash.

To add to the banner look and lift the page a bit, I curled up the edges of the three banner bits and used foam adhesive on the photos. To try and make the photos stand out I matted them onto folded white paper and curled the tips of it too.

I took the opportunity from the white matted paper to hide my journalling under one of the photos (really hate my hand writing and the journalling was not super important)
In case you were curious, the main back paper actually began its life looking like this:

I loved the 'LOVE' but wanted to add some flowers around the bottom without covering it at all. Solution: fussy cut the letters out and throw them up the top instead.

I also matted the letters in the backing colour and used some glue dots to lift them ever-so-slightly.
Hope you like the page and hope my little princesses is back like that real soon!!
